Trail Life and AHG require adults with Range Safety Officer and firearms Instructor certification to be present at youth shooting events. To equip more leaders in our area, I will be offering NRA Basic Range Safety Officer training.

Please share this with your AHG sister troops. I do not have access to share it with them, and they are invited.

Why am I offering this training?
Trail Life and American Heritage Girls require certified adults, and I am passionate about expanding the firearm opportunities for our youth directly, and by equipping adult volunteers.

Who?
This class is being offered for Trail Life USA and American Heritage Girls volunteers. The public RSO classes in the Oklahoma City area are $95-$150.

Trail Life Health & Safety:
For any instruction, at least one current and active certified NRA instructor or coach is required, whether instruction takes place in a classroom or on a range. Any other civilian, national, regional, or state credentialing organization older than 10 years old with [pistol, rifle, etc]-specific training and a full or partial youth instruction emphasis can also suffice.
When shooting at a range, at least one current certified NRA Basic Range Safety Officer (RSO) or NRA Chief Range Safety Officer (CRSO) must also be present and is required to supervise.
Any Range Safety Officer and Instructor/Coach must be intimately familiar with the types of [firearms] present on the range or must find additional expertise to support.

American Heritage Girls Health & Safety:
* AHG believes in its members learning and following the safe, responsible and appropriate handling, care and use of firearms (including rifles, BB guns, CO2 Pellet Rifles, Rifles and Shotguns). AHG relies upon outside organizations/agencies including, but not limited to the National Rifle Association (NRA), US Shooting Sports and other state and industry certified trainers for training, certification, supervision and activities.
* A certified range master or instructor, at least 21 years old, is present and controlling the range at all times.

The cost of the class is $79. A deposit of $20 is due when you register, and the remainder is due the day of class.
