NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is a foundational course designed to introduce individuals to the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. It’s suitable for both beginners and those looking to reinforce their fundamental understanding of handgun operation.
Saturday, July 19, 2025, 9 am-6 pm will be spent in the classroom learning and demonstrating. Bring a pen or pencil, a highlighter, a notebook, and a sack lunch.
Sunday, July 20, 2025, 1 pm – 6 pm will be at the range, exercising what we have learned. We will break Sunday into shifts for individual instruction.
If you own a pistol or revolver, bring it WITHOUT ammunition to class, and bring at least 100 rounds on Sunday. All firearms must be transported in a case.
Register on or before June 30, and the cost of the class is $79. On July 1, the cost increases to $99. A deposit of $20 is due when you register, and the remainder is due the day of class.
Include in the payment notes which class you are registering for and which troop you are associated with.

A deposit of $20 per student is due at registration, and the balance is due on the first day of class. You can use any of these methods to pay the deposit. You can pay the balance electronically or with cash on the day of class.
